Creation of lights inspired by Ghana’s Akua-ba. When I am asked to make a creation, I need to look for al the information available to inspire myself.
The whole house breathes and inspires Africa … the passion of the owner …
The challenge was to create some lights that do not dominate, but they did enhance their decoration.
The Akua-Ba are wooden dolls used for Ghana’s fertility rituals and nearby areas. The best-known Akua-Ba are those of Ashanti people. They have large heads, in the form of a disc.
Traditionally, these dolls were worn in the back of the woman, either in the hope of conceiving a child, or to guarantee the attractiveness of the child. When it was not in active use, the Akua-Ba was washed and cured ritually.
